The entire EziSYSTEM is built around a safety first way of thinking. From the moment you switch on your EziCAT locator you are in full sensitivity, ensuring you do not miss those deep buried cables. The locator always turns on in power mode.
Why?
The answer is simple: research has shown that the most damaging cables strikes occur when an operator hits a power cable; by switching on in power mode, injury to you and your equipment is minimized.
But REMEMBER! The depth estimation is given to the very centre of the service, so how far you dig is dependant on how wide the circumference of the service is!
Like the EziCAT 100, the EziCAT 200 unit detects alternating (AC) electromagnetic signals radiated due to currents flowing in conductive buried services. The operator is given the location and direction of the underground service when the unit receives reradiated radio frequencies through internal aerials, which detect the strength and direction of the received signals.
